Alimenta La Solidaridad International invites you to the second edition of its Solidarity Auction.
The auction will begin with an inaugural toast for the purpose of exhibiting the unique pieces on Tuesday, August 31,2021, at 7pm at the META Miami and Miami Biennale space located at 2751 N, Miami Ave, Suite #1, Miami,Fl 33127. Simultaneously with the opening of the silent auction online.
This year we count with the participation of established and emerging artists, who generously joined their talents to continue supporting the mothers who lead and benefit in the Alimenta La Solidaridad community kitchens through the training and empowerment provided by the training workshops of the program Sustento. The exhibition of the 33 art pieces created on intervened napkins will be open to the public until September 7th.
Alimenta La Solidaridad has implemented a model of social intervention through a process of community organization and transformation, establishing the community kitchens as spaces for coexistence where a lunch is provided from Monday to Friday for children at risk of food insecurity.
The community kitchen program runs day by day thanks to the participation of the volunteer mothers, who are the true protagonists. They give up spaces in their houses where kitchens are established to cook, organize children, clean and carry out the daily operation.
This model of co-responsibility seeks to strengthen the social and organizational capital of the communities. Promotes the empowerment of mothers, and it is them who will be the direct beneficiaries of the charity auction.
The purpose of Subasta Solidaria is to contribute to the training of women linked to the community kitchens of Alimenta La Solidaridad, training them in the techniques of textile art as a creative and productive practice, as well as stimulating them to investigate the potentialities to make this a profession that will provide them with means of self-sufficiency.
