Fundación La Previsora

Founded in 1986 with the main mission of training and developing the human resources of Seguros La Previsora, and specifically to guide and strengthen the training of personnel and intermediaries.

In 1990, under the direction of the Maldonado family, there was a reorientation of objectives and a restructuring of the non-profit. It would no longer be limited to staff training but would expand its interests into the fields of culture, arts, and ecology.

On February 28, 1991, the Foundation launched a new project that contemplated activities related to education, culture and Fine Arts, and eco-development. "

The Foundation reconsidered its mission in three areas or directions; Eco-Development, with Dr. Iván Darío Maldonado; Educational, with Mr. Oscar Bosque Rosa and Fine Arts, with Mrs. Milagros Maldonado, all under the presidency of Dr. Alberto Quintana and the General Direction of José Pisano.”

From this date, 1990, until 2009, when the Maldonado family made the sale of Seguros La Previsora, this foundation developed an intense activity that led to making it one of the main cultural centers of the city, with national and international significance. With its exhibition galleries, which accommodated renowned and upcoming artists, Latin American and Venezuelans; its movie theater, which from 1993, after an agreement with the National Cinematheque, not only maintained constant high-quality programming, but also organized festivals such as the Spanish Cinema, all of which earned important recognitions, the declaration of "Sociocultural Heritage of Caracas", in 1998, and the "National Prize of Journalism of the Cinematographic Diffusion", in 2001; its publications, Moviola magazine, and books such as Alfonso Molina's: Cinema, Democracy, and Melodrama. Román Chalbaud's El País, and Oscar Bosque's: Management and Insurance; in addition “Café Moviola” (1997), a space for cultural gathering and entertainment
